Submission to the Northern Territory Intervention Review
Dear Minister,
I support the review of the 2007 NTE, and I also support all the Aboriginal Leaders and community members, in their plea to reconsider other ways of supporting them, and to roll back the Northern Territory Intervention Bill. I do not believe the bill is working for the good of the indigenous people. Also the racial discrimination act needs to be repealed, because we all should have the right to be heard, and the right to use all our money for our needs, of which we know best.
Consultation with all the communities affected needs to start again, and as in the 80's some community organisations need to be reinstated.
I believe all avenues of looking at better ways to address the circumstances facing remote communities and town camps need to be thoroughly looked at again , and especially to listen to the people concerned themselves.
Yours sincerely,
