Examples of training programs delivered by ICA Australia and ToP trained facilitators:
1. Community Development Intensive - a comprehensive grass roots approach
The Community Development Intensive is a five day course which establishes the context of community development as a whole-system change.
Its focus is on building the capacity of participants with skills to:
- ensure grass roots participation
- motivate groups to action
- develop a grass roots vision
- analyse the obstacles and create innovative strategies
- convert plans into visible, do-able projects
- build supportive relationships, and
- sustain cross-sectoral collaboration.
This course is valuable for personnel from: community agencies, government agencies, community development groups, community planners, community leaders and co-ordinators and business people.
2. Facilitating Change in Whole Systems - Analyze Trends/Create Strategies
During times of profound change in organizations and communities, community leaders need analytical tools to help them assess the situation and devise solutions. This course introduces powerful tools such as lCA's Social Process Triangles.
Working with these tools will help participants:
- understand complex social and organisational dynamics
- see whole systems and change processes more clearly
- develop strategies for the greatest impact, and
- make effective plans and solid decisions.
This course is suitable for: social planners, community leaders, community workers, social workers, adult educators.
